I could see this over Tiltyu.

Dew in chapter 1 basically stands on a forest and beams random axers as they surround him, which not only delays the axers, but makes them sitting ducks. Helps pad a few levels as well as nabbing quite a bit of gold (the axers constantly rearrange themselves, he has plenty of opportunities since they literally cannot hit him). By the time you reach Dew, he could have half the chasing squad robbed. He then throws at that money in Edin's face, ensuring she never has to worry about money ever again if ever.

Tiltyu? So she can clear the arena easier thanks to Wrath, big deal. That's a completely masturbatory function, and she only has realistically 2 arenas to work with (would love to see someone argue how she gets the arena in her joining chapter), which doesn't really get her close to promotion. Well actually, if Dew's getting the wind sword, I suppose Tiltyu could get a third arena. Not that it gets her to promotion in any relevent time. This means she's stuck with shit movement, shit durability and shit offense. She can't realistically be effective until someone hits her, of which form there she can't let anything else hit her.

Dew with the wind sword however, only makes his job easier. He's doing magic chip (since most of your team shouldn't have trouble actually killing by now), and he can rob from the safety of 2 range. He doesn't require to be bitchslapped in the face to be able to do his job. So when both finally meet the enemy (don't thieves have better move than mages?), Dew at least starts off able to do something useful.

What? Money's not a problem? Possibly, but consider this. You can't get all the money you want for something important instantly, like a ring. Edin can't get money easily without a thief. Dew is the reason someone is getting the pursuit ring that much earlier (Lex, Levin, Noish, Claude, TILTYU), Dew is the reason Edin doesn't have to worry about money, Dew can get to the enemy before Tiltyu. Tiltyu? All she has is the ability to complete the arena by herself which never changes the fact that she needs to be slapped in the face first to ever have an actual form of offense.

I'd consider this ability is better than everything self-serving that is Tiltyu, because Dew is actually capable of helping the team in a way that Tiltyu cannot. I daresay it doesn't even belong in low (who wants Cuan or Lex to get the Pursuit ring a chapter earlier? In fact, Cuan can use it first, then before he leaves he can sell it, Dew chips a few gold Lex's way, he can continue to use it from there for maximum effect, or Dew can reimburse Ethlin if she's the one handing money to Cuan).

Gen 2, many people might not be strapped for resources considering killer kid combinations, but there are some people in gen 1 that would love a bit of help from the thief.

(would love to see someone argue how she gets the arena in her joining chapter)

Return/Warp staff since Dew is running over to get the Wind Sword (best magic sword ftw) and Adean already has to meet up with Briggid for the Ichival, and she's slow as molasses. Plus Sigurd has to run across the map to sieze Orgahill. If a unit isn't doing at least some Arena in every chapter they can, you've failed.

Although I do agree that Dew > Tiltyu.

I did sort of glitch up with that, forgetting to delete that part. I sort of realized too late, you could say.

Not that it matters it seems.

As another thought-Dew's probably gonna promote before Tiltyu does (if eithe rof them ever can), or at least if they do, Dew's offense doubles and Solar Shot sucks a bit less with it. Tiltyu still needs to be smacked in the ace to do what she does. Adept is nice, but it's not Pursuit. Hell, Pursuit with Wind Sword is practically doing Tiltyu's job for her.

Honestly, Aideen's the only person who really want's Dews money dumping pre-Midir since she cannot fund her staves at all. For this reason I consider Dew's moneying to be of marginal use.

I agree him>Tiltyu, but I can't see him out of bottom.

17,500 gold is what you can get from a full runthrough of an arena. You basically need 2 runthroughs of the arena to be able to buy rings. Someone like Lex isn't perfect in the arena (sword users just fuck his accuracy up). He might need 3 arenas to get the pursuit ring. Dew could shave those numbers down, so I could get Lex the pursuit ring a whole chapter earlier. Hell, whatever money he can make in the arena he can give it to others, since it's not like he needs it for anything.

Though I guess he can't get out of bottom with it anyways. Still, I think helping someone perform better an entire chapter sooner than usual is pretty significant compared to Tiltyu.

Lex doesn't WANT the pursuit ring in the first place, his AS blows with Hero. Even at 30 he only has 5 AS with it.

Fine then, Noish wants it, or Levin when he's pre-Holsety, even post for fighting Leptor, or even Tiltyu herself, or Arden can just keep the damn thing because apparently no one wants it that doesn't put it to any better use.

Both Cuan and Levin want it, and neither of them should really have money problems because they stomp the arena. Although Tiltyu/etc. could use it too

Already in the first paragraph, you invalidated yourself.

Dew in chapter 1 basically stands on a forest and beams random axers as they surround him, which not only delays the axers, but makes them sitting ducks.

They do not attack Dew if they have 0 hit, so Dew has to hit them all on player phase. Only the captain would, but all the others move first, and captain OHKOs Dew.

Now I do not know how exactly they behave with 0 hit, I just know for sure they surround him and you aren't going to get more than 4000G out of it.

Dew doesn't even have 0 hit on them, I remember trying this. Furthermore you're in trouble if his sword runs out of uses.

If Dew runs out of sword uses, you're taking too long. I had him at 48 uses when I got to him.

And I just did this like seconds ago. I wasn't saying they attack him, you have him attack THEM! They wrap around Dew, but they do not attack him. The AI is dumb enough to want to attack you, but never follows through. They trap Dew, but then they're just sitting ducks. They keep rearranging themselves for some reason, so you can just keep smacking to wrack up gold.

Granted the captain can OHKO him, but it's at 6 hit. 15 exp a hit for him, 11 for the others. So basically every turn he gets 26 Exp. 4 turns is a level, which could result in speed or luck to further reduce the chances. 1 Def point, Dew can survive a shot.

I can. Out of bottom and above Claude. The reason being Light Sword since with it he can steal from a distance and with more money on him, it's easier to pass around rings as well as removing any repairing troubles with things like Claude's Reserve staff.

How often does one shoot rings back and forth? I can't see uber money-ing for rings useful if we never actually do it. As for Reserve, it does have a healthy ten uses and it's not like we're spamming the thing like nuts, and Claude can actually fight in the arena decently [he's no monster but he'll do the first few levels fine] so it's not like he's dependent on Dew to repair shit or anything.

Elite Ring. There's also times where a ring can make a difference in whether or not someone completes arena, passing Pursuit ring to someone who makes better use of it (Cuan and Levin for example) or just handing someone else a ring that is no longer needed by another.

Lachesis does reach Master Knight faster if you spam Return staff and Dew giving her money means you don't have to rely on Prayer Sword to do this. I could go on.
