Basically the touchy subject of FEDS, let's get it out of the way before it causes a problem later.

I am not trying to argue someone up or down, but rather trying to start a discussion on this subject for this game.

So, who puts these stat-ups to the best use?

Here's a list for reference.

  • Energy Drop - 11 (Boss) + 15 (Chest)
  • Spirit Dust - 11 (Enemy Sniper) + 19 (Chest)
  • Secret Book - 17 (Chest)
  • Speedwings - 10 (Boss) + 17 (Boss) + 19 (Chest)
  • Goddess Icon - 9 (Chest)
  • Dracoshield - 16 (Boss) + 17 (Chest)
  • Talisman - 15 (Chest) + 23 (Chest)
  • Seraph Robe - 6 (Chest) + 19 (Chest)
  • Boots - 12 (Chest)
  • Arms Scroll - 12 (Chest)

Off-topic comment; I think one of these should be done in every forum, since it's good to know these things.

Secret Book and Goddess Icon might as well go to the bank account, as piddling as 1250 gold is in the scope of this game's bank account. No one gives a shit about the secret book, and the only people who want the goddess icon are the 3 fail knights Matthis, Vyland and Roshe.

Caeda can use the Icon as a promoted unit in order to use Devil Weapons more effectively.

Well that was the last response I was expecting.

Is this serious, or is this a subtle snipe at my tendency to be ridiculous?

I'm serious, with an Icon she caps LCK around -/12 or so. I used the strategy myself, having a 17mt weapon goes a long way towards helping her damage output.

I'm going to back up Interceptor here, I think. Allowing someone to hit harder, sooner and with less risk > pissing in the sea of your bank account.

Q) Grandjackal, are you going to do something like a list for each stat-up, saying who's the first/second/third/fourth (or some such) best use for each option? Simply for ease of access ;P I'll put it into my post if you don't want to do it yourself~ Or you can just scratch the idea of adding it in completely. T'is up to you, good sir~

2 concerns.

1. Her durability. Is she even capable of surviving as a class that can use such weapons, at least when braves come in (when the devil swords show up)? I don't mean to say the weapon's backlash will kill her if it activates (as much as Jeigen get's crit'd in his opening chapter), I mean can she even fight reliably as such a class when the weapons show up.

2. There are stronger people who have high luck who could also put that to good use, such as Navarre or Julian. Navarre might have hte lowest luck of those 3, but with a goddess icon he could still reduce it to at least the single digits. True, they doesn't get it as close to 0 as Shiida can (Julian comes close), but is it truly better in her hands?

I'm going to assume this is just the swords, since the axe is 13 uses, and you have it since chapter 3. No way in hell it's lasting long enough for her to put it to significant use.

Granted, I'm sort of surprised by this suggestion. I didn't even think of using it to help mitigate devil trigger, but I just want to make sure it's in the right hands.

Sorry, I'm not used to devil weapons. I have the worst luck, I simply can't make myself use them cause they blow up in my face all the time. I know PEMN, but I'm just saying I'm perhaps not the best person to discuss the weapon and how best to use them. Show me my folly, foo'.

@Allen-I'm perhaps the most rushful person on this board, so any suggestion I make is bound to get railed. I'd rather everyone discuss the thought first so that we can decide together what goes best for who.

@Grandjackal; I'd assumed that we'd only put people on the list when it's agreed; I was just wondering if you were going to make the list at all, or if I should take the initiative ^^; Obviously, there'd be a separate list for each stat booster (e.g. C10 Speedwing would get List A, C17 Speedwing gets List B.)

Also; I recall someone hyping Roger getting the C10 Speedwing. Something about him doubling a certain unit when he's a Hunter... or something. Thoughts on this?

1) Sure, she's decently durable as a Dracoknight, particularly if you give some attention to her HP/DEF. Even if this weren't true, there's nothing wrong with being a glass cannon.

2) No at other people being better, and especially no at the Devil Axe being broken. Clearly if we're planning on using Devil Caeda, we're using the Axe intelligently rather than just assuming it broke because time passed.

So we're saying the axe? Well, I suppose we could wait till the hammerne, but that isn't to say that the devil axe doesn't have it's uses early on, where people are struggling to 3RKO common threats.

But, I'm not totally unwelcome to the idea with that in mind. But what do you think of with the swords?

Man, I love the term Devil Caeda...

Anywho, I guess I could start with general suggestions for the stat-ups, and then work our way from there.

Chapter 6 Seraph Robe-I'm guessing either Zag or Wolf to make their start a little more bearable? No one really ever uses these things significantly.

Chapter 9 goddess Icon- Well, that was already taken care of, I guess.

Chapter 10 Speedwing-We got 3 potential cantidates. Roger would have 14 AS, Minerva would have 14 AS (as a draco, but hte benefit is she could have 20 speed by hte time braves show up as a sniper, so she could double paladins while sniping down dracos), George could have 14 AS (for what it's worth), Wendell would have 14 AS (helps his doubling be a bit more withlasting, if it means anything). Who's the best? I say Minerva, hands down, unless someone like Barst needs it or whatever.

Chapter 11 Spirit Dust-Maric.

Chapter 11 Energy Drop-This is tougher than one would think. If you're doubling, then you get it. But, if weapon weight is the only thing keeping you from doubling, I'd say 2 people doubling>one doubling harder. Caesar comes to mind.

Chapter 12 Weapon Scroll-I'd venture a guess on whoever you promoted early who has a secondary weapon.

The Boots-I dunno, Marth? Whatever general is on your team?

Chapter 15 Energy Drop-By now, no one on your team should be getting weighed down who can double. However, there is the fact that eventually, it's gonna be hard to OHKO enemies even with forged slayer weapons. If you give a drop to them, and it produces no better results, it's a waste. I'd say give this to people who can double, but have no slayer option for the common threat. Swordmasters and Snipers (gets shot)

Chapter 15 Talisman-Mages are high number here, but by the time you get it, the chapter will be over. Just give it to whoever's gonna be your Starlight mage, and only if you actually care to get the normal Falchion. Otherwise, just slap it on whoever, or just sell it.

Chapter 16 Dracoshield-I'm gonna call it, this is gonna be the most disputed over item in the game.

Chapter 17 Dracoshield-Followed closely by this one.

Secret Book-Your bank account

Speedwing-Depends, should doubling the coming paladins or dracos be the main point of using these later wings? Cause soon, enemy speed is gonna climb to 20-21.

Chapter 19 Speedwings-Same deal

Seraph Robe-Again, not sure who would make good use of these things.

Spirit Dust-Again, Maric

Chapter 23 Talisman-Fill up Julian's inventory, send it to convoy, have whoever's got Starlight eat it up. Mages have the highest resistance, you need a mage to accomplish things in this mission, and the only way to kill Gharnef is with a mage. So, 2 Talismans and a pure water/Barrier should help ease this chapter. Using this to defend against the upcoming mge dragons probably won't be saving you.

An ideal Dracoshield candidate is someone with high HP but isn't a General with pretty much overkill defense. Barst and Draug are pretty good. It also combines nicely with an Angelic Robe.

If you have plenty of gold lying around anyway you may as well toss a book on Barst so he can critbot a bit better.

Chapter 6 Seraph Robe-I'm guessing either Zag or Wolf to make their start a little more bearable? No one really ever uses these things significantly.

This includes Zag and Wolf. They care about non HP stats far more than they care about actual HP, as initially, for them dealing damage sucks just as bad as taking it since they have meh HP/def or get doubled, depending on class. A robe isn't really going to help them, and if it does, by the time the effects from it start becoming notable, they're soloing whole chapters.

It's 1 crit, I'd honestly rather have the money.

Accuracy can be an issue in this game, particularly with the 1-2 range weapons, and most particularly with the Hand Axe. I'd probably give the Secret Book to Barst or Cord. On the other hand, forging +2 Hit onto a Hand Axe is ridiculously cheap, and I'd imagine that selling the Secret Book would give enough money to forge that like 3 times (or just forge something better for one weapon, for example 1250G should be enough to forge between 10 and 15 extra hit onto one Hand Axe). Likewise this makes a joke out of the Goddess Icon's +1 Hit/Avo, selling it is enough to forge 2-3 Mt onto a Hand Axe. Though I suppose there is the argument that stat boosters will benefit a unit for the entire game, whereas forged weapons will run out eventually. Meh, it's too minor to make much difference either way.

Boots should go to whoever Chainey will be copying most often. In my case I made the obvious choice of giving them to General Zagaro. Marth also seems like a good candidate though.

Rest of the junk is too difficult to determine who "uses it best."

If you have plenty of gold lying around anyway

As in, you have a surplus of funds, not uncommon in this game.

1 crit>1k you aren't doing anything with.
